Learning Curve to Virtual Classrooms

The Computer Education Techniques, Inc. dba SYS-ED IBM mainframe system and application software classroom instruction, courseware, workshops, and support services have been extended for distance-learning.

The virtual classroom instruction includes CETi libraries and training using the Zoom video conferencing platform.

The courses and training programs conducted from 2012 through February 2020 reflect work performed and academic standard resource inputs used in applying a proprietary ml: machine-learning framework.

The machine-learning framework is incorporated into a commercial rate schedule with cost and price points. It is used by client organizations to select and configure the SYS-ED training service for operational requirements, workshops, mastery of subject matter, budgeting, and return on investment.

Teaching Model / Delivery Medium

CETi management attended the required New York State Department of Education Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision courses and director training program. The NYS BPSS licensing process has been used to develop a quality and cost control machine-learning framework for our information technology curriculum and courseware. ³

The standard textbook extension and courseware deliverables can be augmented with the CETi knowledge base and IT resource inputs and training aids.

The synchronous and asynchronous services for distance, blended, and hybrid -learning can include recording of live sessions transcripts, whiteboard content, licensing of resource inputs, and SCORM to client LMS content for mobile device platforms.

Website Support Services

SYS-ED websites are designed for self-exploration and self-service. They also are used to prototype and demonstrate software programming and techniques that are listed in the course search engine and taught by CETi.

The SYS-ED categorized and software websites were brought down in March 2020. The company board of directors will decide when the SYS-ED brand and domain space will be brought back on line. In the interim, SYS-ED and the mainframetrainingbysysed websites are available selectively upon request.

Mainframe Training: Work Performed and Testimonials

From 1982 - 2003, SYS-ED and CETi technology partners provided data processing courses and training programs for 20% of the organizations which comprise the Drucker Institute Management Top 250 - "measurement of corporate effectiveness". ⁵

The standard process was for the prospective client organization to schedule a consultation with the SYS-ED Director of Education qualify an assignment and then interview and select the instructor: programmer/practitioner, academic degree(s), and source-level certification, or all of the above.

A component of the SYS-ED training service is the recommendation that certain course search engine courses and topics only should be taught by the source commercial software companies and open source purveyors. That principle was established in 1980 and remains in place.

1 - SYS-ED provided private mainframe course instruction on location at these organizations. The subject matter, sample programs, and programming examples were based upon the Robert Blumfeld data processing training philosophy/methodolgy, tailored to client operating requirements and implemented by CETi dba SYS-ED curriculum managers. Open enrollment mainframe courses also were conducted at a SYS-ED training center in Manhattan, New York, and satellite locations Chicago, Illinois (NCS) and Oslo, Norway.

2 - These years of mainframe course instruction applied the academic degrees and programming experience of David Silverberg. There was an expanded development and use of training aids, industry specific programming examples, sample programs, textbooks, and textbook extensions. It also was the beginning of a progression and altenative pathways to source software company and open source purveyor certification.

3 - The CETi instructor training includes the New York State Department of Education Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision teacher vetting and licensing process. Content libraries have been organized in a database for web-based IT teaching and learning. The coronavirus pandemic has accelerated this process. 4 - The CETi machine-learning framework is based upon a multi-tier and multi-channel instructional design. The initial ml: machine-learning anchors are the Dun & Bradstreet PPE: Past Performance Evaluation, open source Moodle Learning Management System, and the standards and lesson plans of the New York State Department of Education Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision. Additional ml: anchors are being tested, video conferencing platforms, open source and commercial software company free IT training website curriculum, and report journalism quality control requirements by accredited academia.
