CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
    1. Introduction
      • Examine the components of Enterprise COBOL.
      • Identify the differences between the older versions of COBOL and the current version of Enterprise COBOL.
      • Highlight the concepts specific to the environment of the client organizations.
    2. Unicode Support
      • Examine the run-time options with the new compiler for Unicode.
      • Assign and convert Unicode values.
    3. Writing Object oriented Programs
      • Use the COBOL object oriented featureset.
      • Code a COBOL class with data and function members.
      • Code and test a stub program to invoke the class.
    4. XML Processing
      • Read and display a subtree in an XML document.
    5. Special Features
      • Code a recursive program to read data in a hierarchy.
    6. Storage and Addressability
      • Code a 31-bit program passing data to a 24-bit program.
    7. Compiling Under z/OS
      • Compiling with JCL.
      • Compile a sequence of separate COBOL programs by using a single invocation of the compiler.
    8. Processing Dates
      • Process and compute date calculations.
    9. Performance and Tuning
      • COBOL tuning techniques.
      • Optimize the program provided by the instructor.
      • Use the run-time features to display the metrics.
