DATES:

CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
    1. ISPF Environment
      • List the features and advantages of ISPF.
      • Log on and off.
      • Examine the online help facility.
      • List and set the functions keys.
      • Logon and reconnect to ISPF, set the initial command, and logoff the system.
      • Setup the ISPF environment.
      • List the function keys and change one of the function keys.
    2. TSO Commands
      • List the attributes of a dataset.
      • List the allocated files.
      • Send a message to someone in the class.
    3. Browsing
      • Use libraries, datasets, and MSL: Member Selection List.
      • Use the Browse and MSL primary commands.
      • Given a dataset, browse the dataset and use the hexadecimal, COLS, FIND, LOCATE, and scrolling commands.
      • List all the members in a PDS.
      • Perform a locate operation and select the member.
    4. Editing
      • Change, create, and copy members.
      • Use line and primary commands.
      • Given a PDS, create a member and copy the data from another member.
      • Modify the data member using insert, delete, repeat copy and move commands.
      • Save the member and save under a different name.
      • Sort the data.
      • Search and replace a string.
    5. Examining Output
      • Utilize job browsing software: IOF, SDSF, and EJES.
      • Browse a listing; reroute a job to a different class.
      • Cancel a job.
      • Examine running jobs and check the position in the queue.
    6. Dataset and Library Maintenance
      • Create, rename, and delete datasets.
      • Copy members in a PDS.
      • Using Option 3.2 (Data Set and Library Maintenance) allocate a new PDS, check the attributes of the dataset, and rename the PDS.
      • Using Option 3.3 (Copy and Move) backup all the members in a PDS and copy selected members.
    7. CLIST: Command List Language - Overview
      • Code and test a simple CLIST.
      • Write a CLIST to allocate test files, execute IEBGENER, and pass arguments for input and output dataset names.
      • Confirm that the input dataset exists before processing.
    8. EJES (optional)
      • View the job list for your userid.
      • Cancel one of your jobs.
      • Route a listing to a printer.
    9. SDSF: Spool Display and Search Facility
      • Determine the job class.
      • View the output.
      • Copy the listing to a file.
