DATES:

CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
    1. Coding Structured COBOL Programs
      • Draw a structured flowchart for a project.
      • Document the project using structured design techniques.
      • Pseudocode the project before coding.
    2. Structured Program Design
      • Develop a HIPO chart with associated documentation.
      • Write the visual table of contents to the HIPO chart.
      • Design the top-down testing for the project.
    3. Flowcharting
      • Study the contents of a supplied program flowchart.
    4. Pseudocode
      • Given a flowchart, pseudocode part of the logic.
    5. Structured Walkthrough
      • Break into two person teams and review each other’s design.
    6. Programming Considerations
      • Code a program using sequence, selection, and iteration structures.
      • Review a program that does not use structured techniques and recode it.
      • Modify a program to use COPYBOOKs with proper naming conventions
    7. Review of Installation Standards
