DATES:

CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
    1. Concepts and Featureset
      • Install Node.js and run a sample statement to verify installation.
    2. Project Manager and Modules
      • Run a script as a line command using Gulp.
      • Create an application config file to be used by a program.
    3. HTTP Protocol
      • Create a JSON based database of hospitals in your region.
      • Code a program using RESTful API to access the list of hospitals.
    4. File System
      • Check if a file exists.
      • If it does not, create the file.
    5. Buffers, Streams, and Events
      • Read from and write to files using a stream interface.
      • Pipe the output of a readable stream as the input of a writable stream.
      • Create a duplex stream with read timer and write logging.
    6. Modules and Unit Testing
      • Include a module, use the require() function.
      • Create a module and include it in your application.
      • Include the assert module to provide a set of assertion tests.
      • Invoke the assert
    7. Express
      • Install the Express framework.
      • Use the middleware express static to serve the static files - such as CSS.
      • Handle home page requests as well as the input sent by the HTML form.
    8. Data Sources
      • Create the database and a table used in the Node.js application.
      • Code Node.js to insert a row into the table.
